Laurel & Hardy were "borrowed" by MGM for "The Rogue Song" (as they were for "The Hollywood Revue of 1929", because the studio distributed Hal Roach's films at the time}. Unfortunately, they were not as diligent as Roach was in preserving movies- I keep hoping that ONE print of the entire feature survived...

wow wee! - un - be -leiveable! I can only echo all the other comments,I have spent a lifetime in idle curiosity about this film what wonderful colour composition considering the year of production and the sound perfectly dubbed! ...what can I say, other than thank u for posting & ty utube!

There is some more footage (not much though) of the film I believe... Also a German copy was found quite recently dubbed in Russian and sent to Russia. Source: Wikipedia.

...to everyone that lived in the Detroit area and watched "Bill Kennedy At The Movies'' and had a VCR, please check your tapes, Bill showed a rare Laurel & Hardy film - ''The Rogue Song'', which is now considered lost a lost film, I saw it, but had no idea it was lost until recently, Channel 50 no longer has the tapes, but Bill's family may have a copy(they were somewhere in FL last I knew), let's see how fast we can find this film!!
